Gerry Brisson is a man on a mission. As the President and CEO of Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, his passion is to provide households with access to sufficient, nutritious food, and related resources. Brisson has been leading the food bank since January 2014, and his dedication and hard work have had a significant impact on the community in southeastern Michigan.
Brisson’s career in the nonprofit sector began in 1993, as the Development Director at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. During his tenure, he increased private donation revenue from $4.8 to $7.5 million dollars annually. He also provided strategic planning and fundraising leadership for updating Capuchin Soup Kitchen facilities and for building the new soup kitchens on Meldrum and Conner. In 1999, Brisson founded Development Transitions, a successful consulting practice that helped small to mid-sized nonprofits affordably raise funds and institute sustainable practices.
